I’m thinking about getting the Earscribe for an upcoming trip, but I’m wondering about the battery. 7 hours sounds okay, but does that hold up with actual translation use? Just trying to figure out if it’ll last a full day of exploring.

I think it depends on how much you’re actually talking vs just listening. If you’re doing back-to-back translations all day, 7 hours sounds about right but probably not much more. I’d just toss the case in my bag for a quick top-up.

The battery life depends on how much you’re actually using the translation. If you’re just listening to music or podcasts most of the day, 7 hours is probably fine. But if you’re constantly translating conversations back and forth, expect less.

It’s fine. You’re not translating every second of the day. Even if you use it heavily, you’ll get a few hours out of them before you need a break anyway. Just charge them during lunch or whenever you stop for a bit.

It’s probably fine for a day out. You’re not going to be using the translation mode constantly anyway, just when you actually need to talk to someone. I’d just pop them back in the case when you’re sitting down for a meal or something. Works well enough for me.

Honestly I think even if you’re using the translation a decent amount during the day it should be fine. I just pop mine back in the case when I sit down for a bit and they top up pretty quick. Not totally sure about a full 10 hour day of nonstop use though.

I think 7 hours is plenty honestly. You’re not gonna be translating every single moment, just when you actually need to talk to someone. Plus the case charges them so you can just pop them in while you grab lunch or a coffee and they’ll top up.

I get the concern, but realistically you’re not going to have it in your ears for 7 straight hours anyway. I take mine out whenever I’m just walking around or eating, so the battery has never been an issue for me on a full day.

Honestly, I think you’re overthinking it a bit. I’ve taken mine out for a few afternoons and even with some translation use here and there, I never ran out before the day was over. The case tops them off pretty quick too if you’re just sitting down for lunch.
