I’m looking at the Clima Pest Guard for my patio, but it’s not fully enclosed. The description says it works best in enclosed or semi-enclosed areas, so I’m wondering how much breeze is too much before the UV light stops attracting bugs. Anyone used it outside on a mildly windy evening and still noticed a difference?

I’d say it still pulls in some bugs on a breezy patio, just not as many as when the air is still. The light is bright enough to cut through a light wind, but if it’s gusty the bugs seem to get blown past before they land. Worked okay for me on a mildly windy evening, just don’t expect it to clear the whole yard.

The breeze matters more than you’d think. Once it’s strong enough to rustle leaves or move napkins around, the light loses a lot of its pull. Still catches a few dumb ones that fly right into it, but don’t expect it to clear the whole patio.

It depends how strong the breeze is. I’ve used mine on a covered deck with a fan running and it still caught plenty of small flies, but once the wind picks up it’s mostly useless. I’d rather just move it closer to where I’m sitting than expect it to pull bugs from across the whole patio.

I’ve used mine on a pretty breezy patio and honestly it still caught stuff, maybe not as many mosquitoes but plenty of little flies and gnats. I think the light is strong enough that it still pulls them in as long as there’s not a full wind storm going. I’d say give it a try, it’s worked well enough for me.

Honestly I barely noticed a difference once the breeze picked up on my patio. It still caught a couple things near the base but the light just didn’t seem to reach far enough.

I think a slight breeze is probably fine, but once it’s really moving the light just can’t compete. I’d say try it on a calm night first to get a baseline.

I think it kind of works, but it’s not a night and day difference once the air starts moving. I’ve had mine on a covered deck where it’s not totally still and it still catches some gnats, just not as many as on a calm night. Not totally sure if a slightly breezy patio would be worth it unless you’re okay with fewer bugs getting zapped.

I’ve used mine on a patio with a light breeze and it seemed to do okay. It definitely caught more stuff on calm nights, but it wasn’t useless when the wind picked up.

I’m in the same boat trying to figure that out. I don’t have a fully enclosed patio either so I was worried the breeze would just blow the UV light around too much. It’s good to hear it might still catch the smaller bugs though, that’s really what I’m after.

I put mine on the edge of my patio where it’s a bit breezy and it still caught a few things. Not a ton, but enough that I noticed less bugs buzzing around me. I think it depends on how strong the wind is that night.

Mine does fine with a bit of a breeze honestly. I keep it near the wall of my patio so it’s not getting fully blasted by the wind and it still zaps a decent amount. I wouldn’t bother using it on a super gusty night though, that’s when I just bring it inside.

I’d say a light breeze doesn’t seem to mess with it too much. I’ve had mine out on my patio when it’s a bit gusty and it still zaps enough to make a difference. Just don’t expect it to clear the whole yard or anything.

I’d say it’s probably fine unless the wind is really kicking. I figure the UV light still attracts bugs, they just might take a second longer to get to it in a breeze. Doesn’t sound like a dealbreaker to me.

Honestly, from what I’ve seen, it still pulls in bugs on my patio even when there’s a bit of air moving. I wouldn’t worry about a mild breeze completely ruining it.
