I’m thinking about getting Omnihear mainly for watching TV at home. My hearing isn’t terrible but I miss some dialogue. Just wondering if the TV mode actually helps or if it’s still hard to hear clearly. I don’t want to spend the money if it doesn’t make a real difference.

TV mode works well enough for me. I don’t use it for anything else but it definitely helps catch dialogue I was missing before. Not perfect but a real difference.

TV mode is probably fine for a quiet room. That’s basically what it’s designed for. I wouldn’t expect miracles but it should help with the dialogue you’re missing.

I’d probably just try it and see. If you’re only missing some dialogue in a quiet room, TV mode should cover that pretty well. Worst case, you return it if it doesn’t help enough.

I got it mostly for the same reason and it does help, but I wouldn’t expect it to suddenly make everything crystal clear. It’s more like turning the volume up on just the voices. I think the TV mode just boosts the right frequencies so you catch more words without blasting the whole room. Not totally sure it’s worth full price but it works.

Probably works fine if you’re just missing bits of dialogue in a quiet room. I’d say give it a shot and see if it’s enough for you.

I tried it for the same thing and it helped a bit, but I still found myself turning the volume up on the TV sometimes. Not a total fix for me.

I tried it for TV and it was fine for catching dialogue I’d normally miss. I just keep mine on the TV mode and don’t think about it much. Works for what I need.

I think it’s fine for what it is. If you’re just missing some dialogue in a quiet room, it’ll probably do the job without being a big deal. Not totally sure it’s worth overthinking.

I think if you’re only missing bits of dialogue in a quiet room, it’s probably enough. Not totally sure how much it helps beyond that, but for just catching what you’re already missing, it should work.

I wouldn’t count on it fixing the problem completely. In a quiet room it helps some but I still think you’re better off just turning the TV volume up a notch or using the closed captions.

I don’t use it for TV much but I’ve messed with the TV mode a few times. It definitely pulled out voices better than the other modes for me, but there’s still a bit of that hollow sound you get with in-ear stuff. Might be fine depending on what bugs you more.

TV mode works fine for pulling out voices, so you’ll probably catch more than you do now. Whether it’s worth it depends on how much the missing dialogue actually bothers you. I’d rather just bump the TV volume myself, but that’s me.

I’d say it depends on what you expect. For me, the TV mode didn’t really make much difference—still had to turn the volume up anyway.

Thanks for all the replies. Sounds like it might be hit or miss, but I think I’ll give the TV mode a try and just see how it goes for me.
