Thinking about picking up the Qinux BitBip 89 for my old bedroom TV that’s not 4K. Will it still work fine or is the picture gonna look weird? Just wondering if anyone’s tested it on a regular HD screen.

It’ll work fine. I’ve got mine hooked up to an old 1080p screen and it looks normal, nothing weird. The 4K thing is just marketing, the games are still retro resolution anyway. You’ll be alright.

I’d guess it’ll just look like a normal retro game on a regular HD screen. The 4K output is probably just upscaling, not like it’s making the pixels sharper or anything. I’ve seen similar sticks on older TVs and they just look fine, nothing fancy.

I’d probably just go for it. Most of these retro sticks scale fine on older TVs, not really something to overthink.

I’d just plug it in and see how it goes. Probably looks fine on an older screen, mine does the job without any fuss. Not totally sure why they push the 4K thing, but it doesn’t seem to matter much.

Probably depends more on the TV’s scaling than the stick itself. Might look a bit softer if your TV doesn’t handle 720p well.

I ran mine on an older 1080p TV and honestly didn’t notice anything off about it. The picture just looks like a standard retro game, nothing weird about the colors or anything. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

I’m running mine on an older 1080p set and it looks fine to me. Not sure about the 4K thing, but the games just show up like you’d expect from any retro console. Probably depends on your TV more than the stick itself.

I mean, the TV itself is probably older than some of the people playing these games, so I doubt it’ll care too much about resolution.

I’ve got one hooked up to an old 1080p set in my guest room and it’s been perfect. The games are retro anyway so they don’t need a fancy screen to look right. If anything, it kind of fits the vibe of an older TV better.
