DashOne Pro screen too bright at night? any way to dim it?

I had the same problem whenI first got mine. For me, it wasn’t so much about the glare on the windshield, it was more that the light made the whole cabin feel less dark and cozy on late night drives. I kept fumbling for a setting too, but I think the menu is just pretty basic on these.

What ended up working for me was just angling the whole unit slightly so the screen faces the windshield instead of me. The recording angle didn’t really change since the lens is separate, and it cut down the brightness a whole lot. I also keep the dash lights in my car dimmed pretty low anyway, so it didn’t bother me after that.

It would still be nice if they added a proper screen off option in a future update or something, but for now I just got used to tweaking the angle when it gets dark out.

The screen brightness never really bothered me. I just set it and forget it while driving.

Funny how they nailed the recording but missed that one simple thing.

Honestly the screen is the last thing I care about with these cameras. As long as it records and doesn’t die on me, I’m good. Maybe I’m just used to brighter screens from my phone sat right next to it. Never understood the complaint about a little extra light in the cabin.

Mine is the same way, no display timeout that I could find. I ended up putting a small piece of electrical tape over the screen for night drives. Looks a bit rough but it does the job without blocking the lens.

I usually just leave mine on but turn the screen brightness down in the settings before I start driving at night. Took me a minute to find it, but it helps a lot without having to cover anything up.

I guess I’m the odd one out here, but I actually kind of like having the screen lit up. It’s sort of a reassurance that the thing is still recording, you know? I do wish there was a quick way to drop the brightness without digging through menus, but I’ve just gotten used to it at this point.
