Aptofit charging cable, does it have to click in?

Mine doesn’t click either, it just sits there. I’ve had it for about a month and it hasn’t fallen off yet, but I also don’t move much when I sleep. I can see why it would be annoying though, the magnet definitely feels weaker than I expected.

The magnetic pull on mine is pretty modest too. No click, no snap, just the contacts meeting up and holding. I’ve had the watch on my nightstand for about six weeks now and it’s never come off during the night, but I also place it flat on the table rather than leaving it on a high shelf or anything where a bump would knock it loose.

What I did notice is that the connection feels stronger when the cable is brand new and the contacts are completely clean. After a few weeks of just sitting there, dust or whatever can make it feel a bit weaker. I wipe the little metal dots on the watch and the cable with a dry cloth every now and then and it seems to hold a touch better.

I wouldn’t say it feels loose enough that I worry about it during the night, but if I accidentally yank the cable while unplugging something nearby, it will pop off. That happens to me more than I’d like, actually. The watch itself stays put, but the cable detaches pretty easily if it gets pulled at an angle.

For overnight charging specifically, I think you’re fine as long as the watch isn’t somewhere it can get bumped. Mine sits on a flat surface and hasn’t moved once. If you’re the type to toss and turn and have the charger near the bed where a blanket or pillow might hit it, I could see that being annoying.

It could be that the magnetic connection is fine and it’s just the angle of the puck. I noticed with mine that if the watch isn’t sitting perfectly in the middle of the charger, it feels looser and I can wiggle it a bit. When it’s lined up properly, it holds well enough that I don’t worry about it overnight. I’ve had mine about two months now and charge it every few days on my desk, and it’s never actually fallen off or lost connection mid-charge. I don’t think it’s supposed to snap like a phone cable, more like it just needs to sit flush. Maybe try setting it down more carefully and see if it feels any firmer to you. If it still feels really flimsy after that, it might be worth asking the seller about it.

I’ve had mine since around Christmas and the charger has never felt super secure. No click at all, it just kind of rests there. I do make sure the pins are lined up before I walk away, especially if I’m charging it on a table where it could get knocked.
