Thinking about getting a Coolizi Coolzy for the winter, but I’m curious if the heating mode is as quiet as the cooling mode. I’ve read it’s whisper-quiet, but that usually only applies to cooling. Anyone notice a difference?

I mainly use mine for heating in the bedroom and honestly it’s still pretty quiet. There’s a bit more of a hum than in cooling mode, but it’s not enough to bother me when I’m falling asleep. I’d say it’s fine if you’re not super sensitive to noise.

Heating mode is definitely not as quiet as cooling. It’s got a louder hum that you notice at night, especially when you’re trying to sleep. I was surprised by it honestly, but it’s not unbearable. Just don’t expect the same whisper quiet.

Mine handles heating fine noise-wise, but I can tell it’s working harder than in cooling. It’s not a huge deal to me, but if you’re super sensitive to hum at night, you might notice it. I just run it during the day when I’m moving around.

I have one and I barely notice the heating mode being louder, but I also don’t run it right next to my head. If you’re the type who needs total silence to sleep, you might hear it, but it’s not disruptive to me.

Mine is noticeably louder when it switches to heating, no way around it. Still fine for a living room or while I’m working, but I wouldn’t want it right next to my bed on a cold night. The cooling mode is definitely the quieter of the two.

I think people exaggerate how much louder it gets. I run mine in heating mode almost every evening and the difference is pretty minor to me. Maybe I just don’t notice it as much since the room is already quiet, but I wouldn’t let that stop you.

I have mine running in heating mode most of the day in my home office and I really haven’t noticed much difference from cooling. Maybe my unit is just different, but I can’t say the hum bothers me at all. I actually forget it’s on half the time.

I run mine in heating mode most nights in my bedroom and honestly I think the people saying it’s a huge difference are overselling it. There is a bit more noise, but it’s not this loud hum that keeps you awake. I notice it more when the room is cold and it’s working hard to warm up, then it settles down. If you’re a light sleeper, position it away from your head and you’ll be fine.

I keep going back and forth on whether the heating mode is actually louder or if I just notice it more because the room is quiet. In cooling mode I barely hear mine, but heating has a slightly different hum. It’s not annoying, just more present.

I’ve had mine since last winter and use it in heating mode pretty much every evening. For me the sound change is there but it’s not dramatic, more like a slightly deeper hum than the cooling. It doesn’t bother me at all, but I can see how someone picky about noise might notice it.

I noticed the same thing when I first switched mine over. The heating mode does have a slightly different hum to it, not necessarily louder but just a touch more noticeable. I think it’s because the unit is working a bit harder to push warm air around. In cooling mode the sound kind of blends into the background, but in heating I can tell it’s running even from across the room.

That said, it hasn’t bothered me. I keep mine in the living room during the day and it’s not distracting while I’m watching TV or reading. If you’re someone who needs absolute silence in a bedroom at night, you might notice it more. But for regular use I wouldn’t let it stop you from getting one.

Mine is actually louder in heating mode, but I think it’s the fan cycling more than anything else.

I would say the heating mode has a bit more presence to it. Not louder exactly, but the sound is a little lower and more noticeable to me. I mostly use mine in the living room while watching TV, and it never bothers me enough to turn it off.

I’ve noticed mine is definitely a bit more noticeable in heating mode, but I think part of it is just the different pitch. It’s not that it’s crazy loud, it’s just a lower hum that seems to carry more in a quiet room. I run mine in the living room most evenings and it doesn’t bother me, but I wouldn’t call it whisper quiet in that mode.
