Hey all, quick question for anyone else using the BareEarth Grounding Mat. I’ve had mine for a few weeks now and it’s been fine overall, but I noticed this faint little outline on my hardwood floor where the non-slip backing sits. Anyone else see that? Just wondering if it’s normal or if I should be putting something under it.

It’s probably just the non-slip backing doing its thing. I wouldn’t worry about it unless it gets worse.

I wouldn’t stress about it too much. Most non-slip mats leave some kind of mark on floors after sitting for a while, it’s just how they work. Unless it’s actually staining or peeling the finish, I’d just leave it be.

I noticed the same thing after a couple weeks. It wiped off pretty easy with a damp cloth so I didn’t think much of it. Still works fine for me.

I noticed that too after about a month. It wasn’t a big deal for me though, I just rotate the mat a little every few days and it seems to keep it from setting in.

I mean, I noticed a little something on my floor too after a while, but it didn’t really bother me. It just kind of blended in after a bit.

I noticed the same thing and just threw a thin rug under mine. Problem solved and the mat still works fine.

Huh, that’s interesting. I haven’t noticed anything on my floor yet, but mine’s only been down for about a week. Guess I’ll keep an eye on it.

Huh, that’s good to know. I’ve been looking at these mats but stuff like that makes me hesitate a bit. Not that a faint mark is the end of the world, but I’d rather not have to worry about my floor if I’m spending that much. Still seems like a neat product otherwise.

It’s a mat sitting on the floor. What did you expect, nothing?

Oh, I think I know what you’re talking about. I had something similar happen with mine on a laminate floor but it wasn’t super obvious unless the light hit it right. I just kind of ignored it since it’s not really damaging anything, just a bit of a shadow from the backing sitting there.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen with mine on a laminate floor. It wasn’t anything major, just a faint outline like you’re describing. I just left it and it faded a bit over time.

I mean, it’s a mat sitting on the floor, so some kind of mark or residue is kind of bound to happen over time. Doesn’t really bother me that much personally.

Oh I noticed the same thing on my hardwood floor after about two weeks. It’s not really a stain or anything, just a faint outline that wipes off if I move the mat around. Seems pretty normal to me.

Honestly, I’d probably just throw a thin cotton cloth under it and not worry too much. Those non-slip backings can do that sometimes with certain floor finishes.

Oh I noticed something like that too, but it was more on my desk where I had it sitting for a while. I think it’s just the backing interacting with whatever finish is on the surface. Not sure it’s anything to worry about.

I think that’s just the non-slip backing doing its thing on certain floor finishes. Mine left a similar mark on my laminate but it faded after a day or two once I moved the mat to a different spot. Doesn’t bother me much, works fine otherwise.

I mean, it’s a mat sitting on the floor. Something’s gonna happen eventually.

Huh, I’ve been thinking about picking one of these up, so that’s good to know. Doesn’t sound like a big deal if it wipes off.

Huh, that’s good to know. I was thinking about grabbing one but I have older wood floors so I was a little worried. Sounds like it’s not really a big deal if it comes off.

Hey thanks for the replies everyone, makes me feel better knowing it’s not just me. I’ll probably just leave it as is and not stress about it, seems pretty normal.
