Ben KerrMemberThinking about sliding a Tagsley into my passport holder for travel. Anyone tried that? The thickness seems fine but not sure if the Find My signal gets blocked by the cover material.

MemberPassport leather is thicker than a normal wallet, but Find My doesn’t need line of sight. Bluetooth goes through a lot of stuff.

MemberIt’ll probably be fine. Leather isn’t exactly a Faraday cage, and the Find My network doesn’t need a clean line of sight to work anyway.

Chris MillerMemberI’ve got mine in a passport holder too and it’s been totally fine so far. The signal still pings when I check it, even through the leather. I wouldn’t overthink it, honestly.

Zoe MatthewsMemberPretty sure it’ll be fine. Bluetooth goes through way more than people think.

MemberIt’s not like you’re wrapping it in aluminum foil. I’d just toss it in and not overthink it.

Linda RobinsonMemberI just keep mine in the passport slot and it’s been fine. No signal issues that I’ve noticed.

MemberLeather isn’t a metal cage. I’d be more worried about it sliding out or getting bent than the signal. It’ll ping fine.

Tom RayMemberI doubt the cover would mess with it much. I’ve had mine tucked into all sorts of slots and it still pings fine when I check the app. Probably more of a worry if you were wrapping it in something metal, but leather isn’t gonna do anything.

MemberHard to say without knowing what the cover’s made of, but I’d guess it’s fine. Most passport holders aren’t thick enough to block Bluetooth. I’d just toss it in and check it once before you leave.

MemberI’d just go for it honestly. I toss mine in a card slot in my travel wallet and never had it fail to ping when I checked. The cover isn’t thick enough to be a problem.

MemberI’d probably just throw it in there and see what happens. Worst case you pull it out if it doesn’t ping, but I bet it’ll be fine.

MemberI think it’ll probably be fine. I’ve had mine inside a pretty thick card slot and it still showed up on Find My without issues. The signal seems to push through most things that aren’t solid metal.

MemberHonestly, I wouldn’t overthink it. I’d just slip it in and see what happens, a passport holder isn’t exactly a lead box. I’d be more worried about it slipping out than the signal not working.
17 de July de 2026 at 17:17 #5390
Tom CallMemberProbably overthinking it. A passport holder isn’t going to block Bluetooth, it’s just fabric or leather.
17 de July de 2026 at 18:01 #5393
emily_rParticipantI’m a bit on the fence about it too, mostly because I haven’t tested mine in a really snug holder yet. The signal seems to get through fine in my regular wallet, so I’d guess a passport cover is similar. I’d probably just try it and see if it pings before leaving.
17 de July de 2026 at 18:51 #5396
Ben KerrMemberAppreciate all the input. Sounds like it’s not really an issue, so I’ll probably just give it a shot and see how it goes.
