d4nielParticipantBeen using the Black Falcon for a few weekend trips. Folds up nice and footage is fine for social clips, but 4K feels a bit oversold. Stable enough for casual flying and noticeably quieter than my old quad. Biggest annoyances are battery dropping faster in wind and the phone app losing connection sometimes. Anyone else seeing that or got tips to make it more reliable?

EthanFreeMemberYep, same here. Battery dies quicker in wind and the app sometimes loses connection until I restart it.

AnnaKParticipantThe 4K claim does feel a bit oversold. Handy for quick social clips, but battery and app quirks make longer outings annoying.

d4nielParticipantThanks for the tips, appreciated. Still skeptical about the 4K and battery claims, feels like marketing padding and the app drops look like lazy software. Seems fine for casual clips but not something to rely on.

MemberMine showed up quicker than expected and was packed in a neat foam tray with spare props included. The tiny manual didn’t explain the phone pairing well so I had to fumble through the app menus. Packaging felt decent for the price, instructions could be clearer.

d4nielParticipantThanks, appreciated

northshoreParticipantI’ve had the app drop out on me a few times too, mostly when I’m flying a bit further out than I probably should. The wind thing with the battery is real, but honestly, for what it costs and how easy it is to toss in a bag, I still think it’s fine for weekend trips.

MemberI think the app thing might be a bit of a coin toss depending on your phone honestly. I had more issues on an older android than I do now, but it still glitches out on me if I try to go too far or if there’s a lot of trees around. For the battery in wind, I noticed turning off the obstacle sensors for a short flight helped a little, but I’m not totally sure if that was just luck.

Oliver BrooksMemberI’ve noticed the battery thing too actually, seems like it drains way quicker if there’s even a light breeze. The app has been hit or miss for me as well but restarting it usually sorts it out, though it’s annoying mid-flight. Not sure if there’s a setting to help with the battery or if it’s just the way it is with these smaller drones.

MemberI’ve had the app disconnect a few times too, mostly when I’m out in a more open area. It’s annoying but usually reconnects after a second. The battery thing I just sort of accepted, figured it’s normal for a smaller drone like this.

MemberOh the battery thing in wind is just kinda how it goes with these smaller foldable drones, they don’t have the weight to hold steady against gusts so the motors work harder and drain it faster. I just try to fly on calmer days or keep it close if it’s breezy. App connection has been fine for me most of the time but I make sure my phone is on airplane mode or close all other apps before I start.

StanMemberI think the app thing might be a phone compatibility issue more than the drone itself. Mine was acting up until I closed some background apps and it was fine after that. Not a huge deal for me since I mostly just fly it around parks when I’m traveling.

MemberPretty common stuff with these foldable drones honestly. The battery drain in wind is just physics, light drones have to work harder. App connection drops have happened to me a few times too but usually reconnects quick enough. Still a decent little flier for what it costs.

Mike RunnerMemberApp connection drops sound annoying but mine has been fine so far. Battery drain in wind is just how it goes with these lightweight drones, not much you can do about it.

coffeeandscreensParticipantThe wind thing is just kind of the price of having a drone that actually fits in a jacket pocket, I guess.
28 de May de 2026 at 18:42 #1693
d4nielParticipantPretty much what I figured. Wind drain is just part of owning a small drone, and the app drops are annoying but not a dealbreaker for the price. Still works fine for what I need it for.

techguy22ParticipantThe app thing sounds like a phone issue, mine was fine until I updated iOS and it got flaky. Try reinstalling the app before you bother with anything else.
