I do a few short multilingual calls each week for work and I’m thinking about the SonaBuds. How do they handle quick back-and-forth translation when you’re not going slow or pausing between sentences?

Works fine for me. I don’t do super fast back and forth but the delay isn’t bad enough to kill the flow. People are overthinking this.

I usually keep my sentences pretty short and my calls are more like quick check ins, so it works fine for me. The slight pause doesn’t really throw me off since I’m not expecting a totally natural conversation rhythm anyway. I actually prefer that it forces me to speak a bit clearer, which is probably good for the translation.

Not totally sure about super fast back and forth, but for quick check in style calls the delay seems manageable. I think it handles well enough if you’re not trying to interrupt each other. I haven’t tested it in a heated back and forth though.

Mine handles the quick back and forth pretty well, but I’ve noticed it stumbles a bit if I mumble or talk over someone. Works fine for normal paced calls though.

I think people worry too much about the pause. If you’re doing short business check-ins it’s not really an issue.

I use mine for quick calls in a couple of languages and haven’t had any major issues with the flow. The only thing I notice is that if I’m walking around outside, wind noise can mess with the translation a bit. But for sitting at a desk or in a quiet room, they’re totally fine.

I’ve used mine for some fairly quick back and forth in Spanish and English and it kept up fine enough for me. I think people get a bit too caught up on the delay, it’s not that noticeable unless you’re really trying to rush.

The pause is there, but if you’re already used to talking in short bursts for business check-ins it barely registers. I wouldn’t want it for a heated debate, but for quick updates it does the job without much fuss.

Honestly, I’d probably just grab a pair and see how it goes. Short calls are usually fine as long as you’re not expecting perfection.

I’ve only tried mine on a few short calls but honestly it handled the rapid switching fine for me. I was a bit worried about it lagging but it kept up well enough for what I needed. I’d say just go for it if you’re mostly doing quick check ins.

Seems fine to me. I’ve taken a few short multilingual calls with mine and they handled the back and forth without much drama. People overthink the pause thing.

Honestly, I think people get too hung up on the pause. For the kind of short business calls you’re describing, it’s usually fine. I’ve had a few where the translation hiccuped on a specific word, but nothing that derailed the call. Definitely worth trying if you can return them.

I’ve used mine for a few quick calls and honestly the delay wasn’t a big deal. If you’re just doing short back and forth it works well enough. People get way too caught up on the pause but in practice it doesn’t ruin the flow for me.

I don’t know, the pause thing people keep bringing up seems like something you’d only notice if you’re trying to talk over someone. For short back and forth business calls it’s probably fine.

I guess it depends on what you mean by “handles.” I wouldn’t expect it to be flawless if you’re switching languages mid-sentence, but for normal back and forth it probably does the job okay.

I’d say it works fine for the quick stuff. The translation is fast enough that you don’t really notice the lag unless you’re trying to talk over someone. It’s not a big deal for short calls.

The main thing I noticed is that if your internet connection dips, the translation gets a bit sluggish, but that’s not really the buds’ fault. For quick back-and-forth on a stable line, they do the job fine.

I haven’t tried them personally, but the offline mode sounds like a decent backup if your internet flakes out during a call.

I kind of wonder if people are overthinking the pause thing. For quick business calls I’d think it matters more if the translation is actually accurate, not if there’s a tiny gap.

Pretty much what I figured. Fast enough for short stuff, not perfect if the connection hiccups. Good enough for my calls, I’ll stop overthinking it.
