Ben KerrMemberWas looking at the Melara Air for the cooling thing but I’m a hot sleeper. Anyone actually notice a difference or is it just marketing?

EthanFreeMemberIt probably helps a bit with airflow but it isnt going to make you feel cold or anything. The memory foam still holds some heat, just less than a solid block of it.

Nina_gadgetMemberI got one a few weeks back and honestly I sleep warm too. It’s not like a cooling pad or anything but I do think the cover helps a bit compared to my old foam pillow. The shape took a couple nights to get used to though.

LiamWParticipantI figure if it cools even a little bit, that’s better than nothing for a hot sleeper. Just don’t expect it to replace an AC unit or anything like that.

SarahMParticipantI bought one mainly because I liked the shape for side sleeping. The cooling part was just a bonus for me. It sleeps cooler than my old pillow for sure, but it’s not like magic or anything.

Tom BriggsMemberI skimmed the replies and honestly it sounds like people are mostly just guessing. If you’re a hot sleeper you’re probably not going to notice much.

MemberI feel like the cooling cover just makes it less stuffy feeling, not actually cold. It’s more about not waking up with a sweaty face than feeling a breeze or anything.

MemberI picked one up mostly because my old pillow was flat and my neck hurt. The cooling is whatever, not life changing, but I do wake up less sweaty than before. That alone is enough for me to keep using it.

MemberI think if you’re a hot sleeper you’re probably overthinking it. It’s just a pillow, not a miracle worker.

MemberI got one a couple weeks ago and honestly it just feels like a normal pillow to me. Not cold or anything, but I haven’t woken up sweaty either. Seems fine.

Lisa BassMemberI dunno, I think people expect it to feel like an ice pack or something. It’s just a pillow that doesn’t trap heat as much, not a magic cooling pad. Works fine for me, I wouldn’t call it a game changer but I don’t wake up feeling gross.

Laura CheckMemberHonestly, I think some people expect it to feel like an air conditioner. It’s just a pillow that doesn’t turn into a sweat sponge by morning. Not a big deal either way.

MemberI think some people just run hotter than others, so it’s hard to tell if it’ll work for you until you try it.

Tom CallMemberI got one for the shape more than the cooling, but I do think it sleeps a bit less warm than my old foam pillow. Not cold by any means, just not as sweaty.

Lily___MemberI’m curious about the shape more than the cooling, honestly. The butterfly contour looks like it might help with my neck.

Laura ReadsMemberHonestly, I think people overthink the cooling thing. It’s just a pillow that doesn’t trap heat, not a whole new sleep system. If you’re a hot sleeper, it might help a little, but it’s not going to change your life.

MemberI’m probably not the best person to judge since I got mine more for the neck support than the cooling, but I haven’t really noticed it being noticeably cooler than any other pillow. It doesn’t feel hot or anything, just neutral. I’d say if you’re a really hot sleeper, it might help a bit, but don’t expect a miracle.

Ben KerrMemberGot it, thanks for all the replies. Sounds like the cooling is more of a nice bonus than a game changer. Might still grab one for the neck support and just see how it goes.
