Mike in TXMemberThe green light on the back of my Aptofit is always on, even when I’m just sitting. I don’t need 24/7 heart rate tracking, so is there a way to turn it off or make it less frequent? I’ve dug through the settings but maybe I missed it. Not a huge deal, just seems like a waste.

MemberSettings, display, then heart rate off. Mine stays off.

MemberThe bigger problem is that turning it off in settings doesn’t actually stop the sensor from firing constantly in the background. I tested mine for a couple weeks with heart rate set to manual only and the battery still drained way faster than the 7 or 8 days they claim. Maybe two or three days at best. So either the setting doesn’t stick or something else is running the light anyway.
I get why it bugs you. That green light at night is annoying and it’s just burning power for data I never look at. If you don’t care about the heart rate numbers at all, the setting is about the only thing you can do, but don’t expect a huge difference in how often the sensor actually kicks on.
What I’d want to know is whether Aptofit even documents what that setting is supposed to change. Their manual is thin and the app doesn’t explain much. Feels like a lot of these watches just leave the sensor running and the toggle is mostly cosmetic.
Mine still does it after updates too, so it’s not something they quietly fixed. Anyway, curious if yours behaves the same after a day or two with it switched off.

MemberMine does the same thing and I just kind of accepted it after a while. I had a cheap fitness band before this one that only lit up when you actually opened the heart rate screen, so going to the Aptofit where it’s just always blinking was a bit of a surprise. I looked through the settings a couple times too and didn’t find anything that really kills it completely. The green light itself doesn’t bug me much during the day, it’s more at night when I’m trying to sleep and my wrist looks like a tiny alien is under it. Battery wise I still get close to a week so it’s not draining things as badly as I expected. Not saying it’s fine, just that I stopped noticing it eventually.

MemberMine did the same and I never found a real switch for the sensor itself. What worked for me was putting it in sleep mode at night, since that’s the only time I really cared about the light. It still blinks a bit but way less. During the day I just ignore it now.

MemberMine still flashes even with the heart rate setting switched off, so I’m not sure there’s a real way to stop it. I only notice it when I’m trying to sleep though.

MemberThe light being on doesn’t really bother me, but I get why it would annoy someone. Mine is mostly covered by my wrist anyway so I barely notice it. If the option isn’t in settings then I don’t think there’s much you can do about it.

Emma__LMemberI turned mine off in settings and it actually went dark, so I’m not sure why so many people are saying it doesn’t work. Sitting here right now and there’s no green light at all.
24 de September de 2026 at 03:35 #12637
LauTopMemberI’d just leave it. The sensor light on mine stays on too but the battery still lasts me almost a week, so it’s clearly not draining much. Digging around for a hidden switch isn’t worth the hassle if the watch is doing fine otherwise.

MemberI’m still deciding on an Aptofit myself, and that light is one of the things I’ve been wondering about too. From what I can tell, the green sensor seems tied to the heart rate tracking and there isn’t a simple on/off for the light alone. It’s not a dealbreaker for me, but I get why it would bug you if you’re not using that feature.

MemberStill deciding on one myself. The light being on constantly is one of the things I keep coming back to, since I mostly just want step and sleep tracking. If it stays on even when you’re not moving, that feels like a design choice rather than an oversight. Curious whether it dims at all after a while.

MemberThe light on mine stayed on no matter what I did with the settings, so I just stopped caring about it. What actually bugged me was the battery. Everyone keeps saying it lasts a week, but mine barely made it four days with the heart rate stuff running nonstop. Once I started charging it every other night anyway, the light stopped being the thing I noticed. If you really don’t want it on all the time, I’d be looking at whether the watch actually lets you control that or if it’s just baked in. Mine definitely didn’t give me a real off switch. Not sure it’s worth fighting over though, since the battery was the bigger letdown for me.

MemberI actually like having the light on since it reassures me the thing is doing something, even if that’s probably silly. Mine has been going for about five months now and the battery still holds up fine. So from my side it’s not really a problem worth fixing.

Mike TurnerMemberNo real off switch, just their fake “battery saver” mode.
24 de September de 2026 at 06:25 #12657HarrY
MemberThe light on mine only goes off if I take the watch off entirely. Otherwise it’s on whether I’m moving or not, so I stopped expecting the settings to fix it.

MemberTurning it off is not really the move if you want the other stuff to work. Mine needs that sensor running for the sleep and stress bits, so I just let it do its thing. You get used to the glow after a week or so anyway.
