So I got the MrBold Pro mainly because it’s USB-C and I’m tired of keeping track of another charger. It works fine for nose hair, no complaints there. But how often do you actually need to charge it? I use it maybe twice a week for a minute or two. Just wondering if the battery holds up or if I should keep the cable handy. Not looking for a spec sheet, just real usage.

Twice a week for a minute is nothing, that thing will basically live on standby. I plug mine in maybe once a month and it’s still going. The only thing I’d watch is tossing it in a bag with the button getting pressed.

Mine sits in my gym bag for weeks and still has charge when I pull it out. I only top it up when I happen to have the cable out for my phone anyway.

Mine actually died after like two weeks sitting.

Mine definitely doesn’t go that long between charges.

Twice a week for a minute is basically nothing, so I doubt you’re going to be scrambling for a charger much. That said, my own experience wasn’t some miracle of standby either. I used mine pretty irregularly, maybe once every week or two, and it still dropped to nothing faster than I expected when it was just sitting in a drawer. Not dead in a day obviously, but enough that I stopped assuming it would always be ready. The USB-C part is nice, I’ll give it that, but I don’t think it changes the basic reality that these little things lose charge whether you use them or not. So if you’re only trimming for a couple minutes a week, you’ll probably get a decent stretch out of it, but I wouldn’t treat it like something you can forget about for months and then expect full power. Keep the cable somewhere you’ll remember.

Probably charge it every couple months or so.

Mine sat in a drawer for about six weeks and was still cutting fine when I grabbed it. But I’ve also had it drop from full to dead in a couple weeks when I forgot to turn it off properly once. Twice a week for a minute is light enough that you probably won’t think about it much.

Mine lasted ages on a single charge.

I keep mine in my travel bag and honestly just top it up whenever I happen to have a cable out for something else. That way I’m never really thinking about whether it’s got enough left for a quick trim. Probably overkill on my part though.

Twice a week for a minute is nothing. I used mine way more than that and the battery still outlasted my patience for the thing. But I’ll disagree with the crowd here: mine didn’t hold a charge well after a few months of that routine. It would be fine for weeks, then one day it just wouldn’t turn on even though I swore I’d charged it recently. So the “charge it every couple months” thing wasn’t my reality. I ended up plugging it in every few weeks just to be safe, which kind of defeats the whole point of not tracking a charger. If you’re using it that little, you’re probably fine, but I wouldn’t count on it staying topped up forever.

I’d still keep the cable handy, just in case.

Mine actually went dead on me once because I forgot it existed for like two months, so now I just plug it in whenever I notice the battery getting low. Twice a week use should stretch pretty far though.

Good enough for me, moving on.
