MemberI’ve been using Back Restore for a bit and it’s fine, but 15 minutes feels like a long time to just lie there. Is it one of those things where more time equals better results, or can I cut it short and still get the same effect?

Member10 minutes did nothing for me, 15 barely helped.

Member15 minutes is the sweet spot for me. I tried cutting it to 8 or 9 once and my back felt about the same as not using it at all, so I just stick with the full session now.

MemberI actually think the 15 minutes is less of a magic number and more of a “give the muscles time to stop guarding” thing. I borrowed my brother’s unit for about two weeks and messed around with the timer. On days I did the full 15, my lower back felt looser for most of the afternoon. On days I bailed at 7 or 8 minutes, it felt good right when I got up and then tightened back up within an hour or so. So for me it wasn’t that shorter sessions did nothing, it just didn’t hold. That said I don’t think lying there longer than the recommended time does anything extra either. Once the muscles let go, they let go. I’d rather do a shorter session twice in a day than try to stretch one past 15. Curious if anyone else has tried splitting it up like that.

MemberI still do my full 15 and tried 5 minutes a couple times when I was rushed, and I honestly felt just as good after the short ones. So I don’t think the 15 is some magic number you have to hit. My back felt loosened up either way.

MemberI usually just do 10 minutes because that’s all my schedule allows, and my back still feels looser afterward. I never noticed a big jump between 10 and the full 15 honestly. Maybe it matters for some people but for me the shorter session does the job.

MemberI usually do it while watching tv so the time kind of flies by. Cutting it to 7 or 8 minutes gave me most of the relief honestly, just felt a little tighter again sooner.

Tom BillMemberI cut mine to 8 minutes after a few weeks. Still felt the same as the full 15. The timer seems more like a suggestion than a requirement.

MemberI don’t think you can just shrug off the time part. The decompression and heat need a bit of a runway to actually do anything, so five minutes mostly just feels nice in the moment. I’d rather do the full session less often than shortchange it every day.

Member15 minutes is the number they put on the label so nobody can say they used it wrong. You can lie there for 5 and your back isn’t going to know the difference. If anything, the shorter sessions are easier to stick with, which matters more than hitting some magic timer.

AnnaKParticipant15 minutes is the minimum for me, less does nothing.

MemberI don’t think the number itself is magic. For me it’s more about whether I actually feel things loosen up, and some days that happens quicker than others. If I’m still tight after 5 minutes I keep going, if not I get up.

MemberIf I skip the heat and just use the arch part, I can bail after 5 minutes and my back feels the same as a full session. The full 15 only matters when I want the heat to actually soak in. Otherwise it’s just lying on the floor being bored.

Lisa BassMemberI usually just set a timer on my phone so I’m not checking the clock the whole time. Ten minutes has been my sweet spot lately.

MemberI ended up just keeping it at 10 minutes most days. It’s not a magic number, but I don’t feel like 5 does much for me either. Good enough, I’m out.
