Does the CoolCove work well in a really small room?

80 sq ft is basically the ideal size for it, so you wont have to worry about hot or cold spots. I’d be more concerned that it just blows air right at you if you sit too close. You might end up adjusting the settings more than you think.

I’ll admit I was a little skeptical when I first got mine because the thing is so light and small that it almost feels like a toy when you unbox it. I have it in a spare room that’s maybe a bit bigger than your office, and I remember thinking there was no way this little unit would do anything noticeable. Turns out I was wrong about that pretty quickly.

The evenness thing is something I actually wondered about too. I tend to sit right next to it, so I half expected one side of the room to feel fine while the other side stayed stuffy. That hasn’t really happened, at least not in a way I notice during a normal workday. I think because the unit is so close to where you’re sitting in a small room, you kind of get the benefit of it without needing the air to travel far. It’s not like cranking a big AC in a hallway and hoping it reaches you, you know?

One thing I didn’t expect is that I use it more for the fan mode than anything else, especially in the middle of the day when I just want some air moving. The heat part is fine too, but I’ve mostly been using it to take the edge off in the morning.

I wouldn’t overthink the hot/cold spot stuff too much. For 80 square feet, you’re basically in the sweet spot for what it does. I’d say just make sure you don’t shove it behind a monitor or a stack of papers and you’ll be fine.

Small rooms are honestly where this thing makes the most sense to me. I’ve got mine in a little den and the airflow is strong enough that it circulates pretty well. 80 sq ft sounds tiny enough that even an oscillating fan would probably do the job. I had mine angled down from a shelf at first and it was blasting my neck all day. Moved it across the room and it’s been fine. I think for 80 sq ft you’re fine as long as you’re not putting it three feet from your face.

Honestly, mine’s been great in a small bedroom and I think the size actually helps it. It’s not like one of those big tower units that blasts air in just one direction. Since the room is small, the air has less distance to travel, so it kind of circulates on its own if that makes sense. I wouldn’t worry about hot or cold spots at 80 sq ft. That’s pretty compact.

I think you’re more likely to notice the opposite problem, where it gets too chilly or too warm if you leave it running for a long time. I just set mine to a comfortable temp and it holds it steady. It’s been nice not having to switch out a space heater and a fan depending on the season. I’d say go for it, especially if you’re just trying to make your office comfortable without cranking the whole house AC.
