Does the Ryoko Pro actually block ads or is that just marketing?

I’d probably keep it just for the convenience of having one device for travel. I’m more interested in whether it saves me from messing with local SIMs than the ad thing.

I think it’s just one of those features that works okay-ish but isn’t perfect. Mine blocks stuff on some sites but definitely not all, so I wouldn’t say it’s a big deal either way. Just kind of there.

Honestly I wouldn’t overthink it. Mine catches the big stuff but some random ads still slip through, especially on smaller sites. It’s not perfect but it’s fine for what it is.

I noticed the same thing when I first got mine. It kind of feels like the ad blocker works better on some types of sites than others, maybe depends on how the ads are loaded or something. I didn’t mess with any settings, just kind of accepted it as a nice bonus when it works.

It’s a router-level ad blocker, so it’s never going to be as good as a browser extension. Works okay for the basic stuff, but I wouldn’t count on it for YouTube or heavy scripted sites.

I think it might just depend on the site you’re on. I’ve had mine a couple weeks and I haven’t noticed any ads, but I’m not totally sure if I’m using it right either.
