I’ve been using the Herz P1 Smart Scale for a few weeks now and I’m liking it for tracking trends but I’m wondering if I’m messing up the readings by weighing myself right after I get out of bed. I know hydration can throw off the body fat estimates so maybe I should wait a bit. Anyone else do the same or have a routine that works better for consistent results?

Honestly I think you’re overthinking it. I just step on mine as soon as I roll out of bed and the trends still look fine to me.

Honestly I wouldn’t overthink it too much. Yeah hydration probably messes with the numbers a bit but you’re using it for trends anyway so as long as you do it the same way every morning it should still show you the direction you’re heading. I tried waiting around for a while before weighing and honestly just ended up forgetting half the time.

I just do mine right away too. It’s more about the trend than the exact number for me.

Nah, I just step on mine first thing. The numbers bounce around anyway, so I figure consistency matters more than timing.

I do the same thing, just roll out of bed and hop on. I figure if I always do it at the same point in my morning routine, the trends should still make sense even if the numbers are a bit off. Honestly I don’t overthink it too much.

I just hop on first thing too. I figure if I do it the same way every day it doesn’t really matter what the actual number is, just the trend.

I get what you mean about the hydration thing, but honestly I just roll out of bed and hop on too. I figure the body fat number might be a little off but if you do it the same every morning the trend should still be useful. Probably not worth overthinking unless you’re trying to get a super precise reading for some reason.

Honestly I wouldn’t overthink it. I just hop on first thing and call it good.

I mean, I get it, but weighing yourself right after waking up is pretty much the standard for most people. The body fat number is gonna bounce around no matter what you do, so I wouldn’t stress over waiting.

Weighing first thing is pretty standard. If you’re worrying about hydration messing with the body fat number, you’re right that it does, but that’s why you just do it the same way every time. The scale is for tracking trends anyway, not for getting a perfect number. I wouldn’t stress about it.

I usually wait maybe 10-15 minutes because I’ve noticed the heart rate reading seems more stable if I’m not still half asleep. No idea if that actually makes a difference for the body fat stuff though.
